Daunting..

Since I'm still in school, the idea of the "real" world hasn't really hit me just yet, but I got to thinking today..

How in the world will I survive out there?

Once I move back to NoVa for my third and fourth year of Pharmacy School, will I stay at home? What happens when I get engaged? Buy an engagement ring? Get married? When do I move out of my parent's place? Would we even have enough money to get (buy) a place in NoVa? What about the wedding? Don't they cost like 15-20k these days? And the honeymoon? It seems like it takes quite a lot of starting money to get settled in the "real" world. Starting money I don't have.

I'll have to sleep on it, but I think in the end, it'll all work out :)

  1. First of all, I enjoy your blog. We all share some similar thoughts regarding the "real world", being a young professional, getting settled on our own two feet w/o our parents.

I'm working on a project right now dealing with the wedding industry. Our primary target market is engaged couples living in the DC metropolitan area... looking to get married in a beautiful yet affordable setting. Between 2008 and 2010, on average people spent approximately $21,000 dollars for their weddings, varies depending on the location. That's a lot of bananas.... and we're just talking about the wedding alone.

But the good news is, most of us are in the same boat, and from what it seems like (alums), people are making out alright. What's more important is that we have that special someone to share our journey with. It's worth the effort, the struggle just knowing that we have a future we're fighting for. The first two three years might be tough. Once we're more established in our careers, it will all be alright.

Best of luck in Pharmacy school and hope you and C are doing well. =)
